Personal History

My name is Jere Kellough.  I am an intermediate rider & this is my first time to race in the 2015 Baja 500!  I've always wanted to race this race since I was a kid, probably 40 years ago.  I have raced in the Diamond Don's Hare Scrambles in Jefferson, TX 6 times & have won 4 AHRMA championships.  I am an avid motorcycle rider, riding dirt bikes all my life as well as riding my Harley all over the United States.  We have named our team Team Longshot.  This race, the Baja 500, is my American Dream….  I am riding for all of us from the 60's & 70's that rode around on our bicycles, talked & dreamed about riding in the Baja 500!  There is a group of 9 of us that are going.  We have a certified motorcycle mechanic, a translator, a dietitian/trainer, a statistician, a cook, a logistics person, a chase vehicle driver, ada baby we call "Sweet Thang" & support staff.  Also, we have set up a website where people can donate money & those proceeds go to Cowboys Who Care Foundation out of Fort Worth, TX.  They provide cowboy hats for kiddos with cancer.  Our website is www.followmetothebaja500.com.

Riding Goals

My goal is to raise money for those kiddos to get cowboy hats and to show that the American Dre am is still alive, that any kid can grow up and be anything they want to be or do anything they can dream up if they just work hard and never give up.

Competitive Highlights

I've raced in the 2013, 2014 & 2015 Diamond Don's Riverport Classic AHRMA 6 times & have won 4 championships.  Looking forward to placing in the 2015 Baja 500!
