Personal History
My name is Jeff Laws, I'm 38, and I work for San Diego Gas and Electric as a Journeyman Lineman. I have been riding for 4 years, and racing for 2 and a half. I am married and we have 3 kids, an 11 year old son and twin 5 year old daughters. We all enjoy trips to the Southern California deserts and other destinations to camp and ride bikes, quads, and our SxS, as well as other outdoor activities. I am just finishing my second full season of racing, and I am a charter member of the Top Notch Racing MC club. I also take pride in doing almost all of my own repairs and maintenance on my bikes.
Riding Goals
My number one goal while riding is to have fun. I also enjoy the challenge of pushing my limits and improving my abilities, and racing seems to give me the opportunity to be able to see that progress in the results. I don't have any specific goals, except to have fun, keep improving each race, and each season.
Competitive Highlights
I started racing in the AMA District 38 Desert series in the middle of the 2010 season. In 2011, my first full season,I finished 9th in class. In 2012, I earned the #6 plate in the vet class. I also take pride in the fact that I have crossed the finish line in all the races that I have entered (over 30), and I have not been disqualified or penalized during any of them. I try to treat my competitors with respect, both on and off the race course.
