Personal History
My name is Jayden Walker and I have been racing since I was 5.
I live in a North Western Australia mining town call Newman which is pretty cool because you can ride the track here when ever you like with all your friends.
I like to play most sports like AFL Football, Austag Rugby and Cricket, I also do BJJ (Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu) which I really love but my favourite sport is Motocross. My Dad and Me travel all around the Noth West of Australia to compete in the North West Championship, it's the best time because we camp at the track to race.
I have an older Sister and younger Brother. My Sister doesn't ride but My Brother is 3 and He has a Pee Wee which he rides, I think He will race one day and come with Dad and Me to the other towns to race.
I love to watch any Motocross that is on and My favourite rider is Chad Reed, that's my brothers favourite rider to. I hope he wins the Supercoss this year.
Riding Goals
My goal this year is to do better than last year and to still have heaps of fun doing it.
I have one year left to race in the 50cc Division 2 class which I am going to do in the North West Championship this year. I came 6th overall in this class last year and if I work on my riding I think I can do heaps better this year.
I got a new 65cc at the end of last year which I am going to race in our local rounds this year. This class looks like it will have the most riders in it, some of the guys I raced last year are moving up to 65cc which is going to be cool.
We have had The Moss Institute, Yaim and Lee Hogan coaching clinics come to Newman a few times over the last couple of years, hopefully they will come again this year, Dad said we may go to Perth for some coaching if we can, that would be cool!!!
I would also love to do some open races this year in Perth, to race against heaps of other kids on different tracks. There are a few of these races this year, Dad has the dates and hopefully we can go.
Competitive Highlights
My first year 2011 of competitive racing I rode a KTM 50cc Mini division 1 bike. I came 2nd overall in our local competition and in the last round I got my first round win, this was the coolest thing to happen to me that year.
That same year I raced the same bike in the North West Championship, I got 4 - 3rd's and 2 - 2nd's to come 2nd overall.
Last year 2012 I moved up a class to 50cc division 2, I rode a KTM 50SX Pro-senior. Locally I came 2nd for the season and 6th for the North west Championship. We had 7 racing in Newman and 15 in the North West Championship, so I think I did pretty well.
I did one State round in Perth last year, it was raining heaps and the mud was really deep. The 50's didn't go too well in the deep mud but i managed to finish and got 10th overall which was a big surprise. I would like to do the state rounds but it's a long way to Perth from Newman, Dad said we would see what happens, fingers crossed.
