Personal History

Well, where do I start. I'm 12 years old, and live in Good Hope, Georgia. I started playing sports such as, T ball, baseball, and football at the age of 5. I have always had a greater love for football during all those years; this is my 2nd favorite sport to Motocross. This year (2008) my dad told me that if I was going to get serious about Motocross, that I was going to have to choose between the sport that I'd played for so many years and a fairly new sport to me (at least competitively speaking). I had ridden dirt bikes since I was 10 along with my dad. I keep track of several College football teams, my favorite team is , well you guessed it Georgia Bulldogs. According to the past 3 seasons, I’m proud to be a bulldog fan. I don’t keep up with Pro football teams, not as exciting to me. I’m an A and B student at youth middle school. My parents always are stressing to me the importance in getting a good education…..yea, yea, yea. I’d rather have a pro taper bar in my hand than a pencil. On a serious note, I do think my education is something that is needed to get through life. I love to water ski, tube and just ride on dads boat, sometimes he takes the 5th wheel and boat to the lake and we always have a blast. This year I have learned to wake board (trying to talk dad into buying me a board). I also ride horses, I have a dark bay pony, which matches my dads dark bay quarter horse. Dad has a horse buggy that we will sometimes go on trail rides with. Well, I could go on for days, so I’ll just stop at this point. Its time to go practice.

Thanks for reading about me and as my dad says at practice every day

"RIDE HARD OR DON’T RIDE" ITS THAT SIMPLE

Riding Goals

My goals are pretty simple. I think my goals are the same as possibly 50,000 other kids my age are...... MAKE IT TO LORETTA LYNN'S.  What more can I say

Competitive Highlights

I like to win ! If that takes scrubbing bars, footpegs or anything else that might get in my way. My dad tells me that If I'm not wrecking every now and then, then I'm not pushing hard enough, and thats what I try to do.

About 6 weeks ago I was at Twin Peaks MX racing a night race. This was the first time at this track, we practiced all day on Saturday and the races started at about 5pm that afternoon. During practice I had mastered most all the jumps except for about 4 jumps. (there were 2 big doubles at the finish line that I hadn't jumped all day) That night about 7pm during my second moto, I made a mistake in a corner and spun out, before the spin out I was in 2nd place, 3 riders passed me in the corner before I could get my bike up an back on it. I was very disappointed, but was determined to make up ground, my adrenaline was pumping and I was ready to go at this point. I rounded the last corner before the finish line with a smooth line that I'd taken, I told myself, Jay, its time to go.... do it !!! I come through the corner pinned in 3rd, shifted to 4th, pinned the throttle and cleared the first double and then the second double, during the time I was in the air on the second double, I passed all three riders that had taken 2nd position from me. I WAS BACK IN PLAY !! I went on to finish that moto with a 2nd place finish.
