Personal History
My name is Jason Stubbs rider #85. My birthday is April 16 2005. I have been riding for 4 years, attended all the local Houston races and series. I have been fortunate to be on the podium in all the Houston area races and series that I have raced in. We have done many National and Arenacross races which I have always placed in the top 10.
I race Cobra’s 50cc Sr’s and a Cobra CX65
I like racing Motocross because it’s all up to me, not a team like baseball or basketball. I like the feeling I get when I go fast and smooth. My parents, Brothers and Sisters are very supportive and come to all the races, they are my TEAM and I race for them. I have been on the Cobra Developmental team for 2 years, I really like the guys, they help me out at the Nationals and are always listening to me when I tell them about my races.
I like school and my teacher is great, she was a completion BMX racer when she was younger we talk about the races on Monday and she understands what I am talking about. I don’t tell my friends at school. Because they don’t understand, but they all want dirt bikes and the cool MX stuff that I have.
My Dad is my mechanic and keeps the bikes in top shape, he has a shop Sugarland Power Sports, My Mom and Grandparents are my cheerleaders. I have a trainer Cody Haverfield #599, he races in the Pro class 450A, he travels with us to all the races. We are a great team. We practice 2-3 a week, Cody is teaching me to ride safe and smooth, I have really improved with his help. Cody tells me that in racing MX you have to want it BAD like needing a breath when under water, My Dad always asks me “Hey do you want to race this weekend, we don’t have too if you don’t feel like it” I tell him “YES I WANT IT BAD”
I like to play video games, swimming and anything that is FAST esp boats, RC cars and PWC's. I also like BMX and skateboards.
My Dad say's "as long as we are having fun we will keep racing" and I am having lots of fun. our saying is "what's the best part of racing? HAVING FUN!!!!" then I shoot out of the gate.
Riding Goals
My goals this year 2014 are t o make it to as many Nationals as I can. This is my last year in the 50 class and I plan to make it count.
My main goal is to make it to Loretta Lynn's, The last 2 years I placed 2nd at the area's, but had bike problems at the regional’s.
This year I am stepping up my training program to include eating right and exercise more. I am training hard on the CX65 and plan on doing very well on it, like I do on the 50.
We still are racing all the local Houston and Texas races and series even the big ones like the Texas Winter Series.
I look forward to meeting my sponsors at the track and using or wearing the products that they have. My Dad sells the same stuff that I use in his shop. Dad says that the younger kids want what I have, I think they want it because it's cool and works good.
