Personal History
Hi there my name is Jason Pflugh, I’m 44 :( lol however I just reunited with MX … I’ve ridden bikes my entire life starting I was just a young child. The first one was a Honda 70 [tank] lol, 3 gears !lol With that Honda I did a lot of trail riding in a nearby farmer field learning the basics of life’s freedoms and possibilities. :) My next Bike was an RM 80 which was a huge jump in power and took me some time to learn & control. I enjoyed that and my occasional neighbors XR 80 when swapping bikes was in order. Throughout high school I traveled around with a couple of my buddies to varies MX tracks and spent weekends filming them race! I called it “Pflugh Entertainment “. When filming a good jump at their private tracks consisted of me laying on the back side of the takeoff of a big doubles lol (not the best idea I know , but I had faith in their abilities), and I wanted the best film shot possible. After races or practices we would all rally together and watch my footage and laugh at my comments and enjoy the riding the guys did. Although I never had a bike or equipment to Race myself I really enjoyed filming and being in the MX environment. With high school finishing up everyone disappeared to colleges and I became a carpenter. A few years passed and I joined the army as an infantryman. I did 5 jumps outta a C130 in airborne school in fort benning georgia (scared of heights I may add ) … and thought that would elevate me of my fears…I was wrong lol didn’t help..lol) followed by 2 tours in Iraq. The first was in a place called Kirkuk and the second was Baghdad. I returned a different person who I’m still trying to figure out… I’ve since had 2 boys who are older now 17, and 16 … and my youngest has saved enough money to purchase his own Yz250 … and has encouraged me to get back on a bike again. The result was a crf450r (wow what a machine). Yesterday we traveled to TV land Mx in pierport Ohio and spent most of our time on the turn track. Upon arrival the MX environment, the feeling and the energy had returned… and It allowed me to remember the good times I use to have when I was younger and it helped me appreciate a great time with my son … along with showing him some basic things about riding to help him get started.
…My goals are to spend more time not focusing on the problems that life brings, and be more in the moment. Spend more time in the Mx environment with people that I love and want to be around. I have minimal if any to offer in the MX race community as in sponsorship, However I’m grateful for the opportunity that you guys are giving on this site to young riders looking to get a little help and I wanted to say thank you . … And if any company is interested in a middle aged male , sorta out of shape, who still enjoys twisting a little throttle … I’m here for the taking ;) …
Thanks for your time and God bless
