Personal History

I am 30 years old started racing this past year. I have been married to my lovely wife since june of 07. I dont have a kids as of yet.  We will someday.  I have rode street bike my whole life and switched over to dirt bikes almost 2 years ago.  i really love it I have always watched motocross on tv but never had any friends that rode.  I met a guy I work with part-time on the weekends and he introduced me to the whole MX world.  I only wish now that I would have started when I was a youngster.. It is perfect for me though I am very competive and love racing.  I had a few habits i had to break when I first started riding/racing.  I have kicked them after many months of hard work. I am ready to go out this next season and really show what I have learned in the off season.

Riding Goals

Some of my goals for the next year are to work on my fittness.  get better on my ground skills. Work on starts.   all this is leading me to hopefully make the LL over 30 vet C  class in 2010. I am going to work all year to prepare for that.

Competitive Highlights

the best highlight that I can think of is the last race of the year. I was third in points in my class. the ASCS drops your worse 2 motos during the year. at the last race after the points were dropped the guy in fourth went to third because he missed one round and they dropped those races and i had to drop like 20 points. so now i was behind by 2 or 3 points. they were giving double points for the last round, so I knew it was possible to get ahead of him but I would have to have some places between us. The first moto I staled my bike on the gate worked my through 10 riders to ended up 5th.  he got 8th. I was sure that I had to bring it the second moto to make sure I got the points.  I got a good start the second moto 3rd around the first turn passed the guy in second pretty quick and was pushing the guy in the lead.  He made a mistake and I took first.  I rode my brains out till the last lap I was tired all pumped up and I missed a rut the guy passed me and I tried to pass him back but I couldnt get it done before the finish. all I needed now was to see were the other guy finish. he got a 7th with a 8th overall.. I got a 5 and a 2 with 4th overall. So It worked out and I did end up getting third for the year in my first season of racing....
