Personal History

GNCC Junior Trail Boss, Sweepmaster + More
MX Sports Infield Master, Referee + More

Growing up in North Carolina, I was pretty much a race fan from birth. My dad rode virtually his entire life and started racing local hare scramble events in the early 1980s. While I didn't just jump straight into racing at an early age, I always followed the sport and couldn't get enough. My dad stepped away from racing for several years, but once I got a bike of my own he naturally got back into it, and next thing we knew we were both racing!

I never had any huge successes as a racer, but did manage progress out of the C classes into the B class at local and regional off-road events in the southeast. Through the years of racing, I was always intrigued by the aspects of what it took to make events happen. Eventually I ended up helping with the promotion of several local races in North Carolina. Around this time I realized I would never, ever become a professional racer because, well, I wasn't that good! This also happened in that awkward stage where I was out of high school and not entirely sure what I wanted to do.

In 2010, I put my ragged out KTM away and travelled to the GNCC events with my buddies Rob Mitchell and Charkie Huegel as part of OffroadJunkies.com. Charkie was racing the Open A class at the time, while Rob and I would shoot and edit videos. My videos were garbage, and Rob was pretty good. I started getting to know a lot of the folks involved with the races, and was eventually asked if I'd like to shoot for RacerTV. I did that through the end of 2010, and beginning of 2011 before speaking up and saying "I've helped put on some local races before!"

Next thing I knew I had a staple gun in my hand and was helping set up the GNCC courses. In 2013 and the first part of 2014, I split time between working the GNCC events and also working at Powersport Grafx (RidePG). In 2014 I met my now wife, Kayla, who had also began working for Racer Productions and eventually made the move to West Virginia to work for Racer Productions/MX Sports full-time.

Over the years things have evolved and now I work alongside Jeff Russell and Ryan Echols to layout the GNCC courses, then I serve as the primary sweep rider each weekend. I get to go riding all weekend long, whether I want to or not! At motocross events I simply do whatever is needed! Whether I serve as Event Referee, Race Director, Infield Manager, or just simply towing bikes off the track.

I've been very lucky to turn a passion into a career and even with a full schedule of work weekends I still find the time to go out and do some racing of my own!

Riding Goals

Race more! The past few years I've been riding a lot and want to make more of an effort to go out and do some racing on our few off-weekends.
