Personal History
Racing Background.
In 2006 Jamie started racing BMX, with a promise that if he done well he would be allowed to race motocross. The theory behind this was to give Jamie some basic 2 wheel skills in a competitive format. By the end of the season his success, led not only to the two wheel skills but also added the confidence and the understanding of what it took to win a championship. In addition to the awards noted above, his success led to the honor of being to ask to represent Canada at the World BMX championships in 2007. This invite was turned down due to Jamie wanting to ride Motocross only.
During the fall of 06 Jamie also entered his first motocross race an Albertan Provincial Race which he finished 4th overall.
After a successful season of BMX, and as promised he was allowed to race Motocross in 2007. The season provided Jamie with 11 podium finishes including 8 overall wins out of 13 races entered at all levels.
His success at Provincial and Western Canadian Level led to Jamie qualifying the Canadian Amateur Nationals held in Walton, Ontario. This race brings together riders from throughout North America. The week started well qualifying #1, however a crash in the 1st moto involving a lapped rider and a mechanical in the 2nd moto left him 20th overall. However this provided Jamie with a new experience of dealing with defeat, something he had not experience. This has only made Jamie more determined and now wants to race in the USA so he can race with the best riders on a more regular basis.
