Personal History

My name is Jay Newton, and I am 10 years old. I attend Montgomery Intermediate School in Montgomery, TX., where I am a 4th grade A-B Honor Roll Student. My favorite thing to do is ride and race my motorcycles. When I am not at the track, I enjoy BMX, fishing, school, art, music, swimming, boating, and playing with my friends. I live with my mom and dad, but I don't have any brothers or sisters, so my friends and family are very important to me. I currently race in the 85cc 9-11 Stock Class, Supermini 9-15, and the Mini Four Stroke Class. I have two 2007 Honda CR85R's and a 2007 Honda CRF80F. I may not be the fastest kid at the track, but I never quit! I do the best I can and give 100% every time I get on the track.

Riding Goals

For the 2009 season, I plan on running three local/regional series and try to qualify for Loretta Lynn's in the stock and mod age classes. We may try to go to Ponca this year as well. I will also compete in some local and regional races as fill-ins throughout the year. I am currently working with a great trainer and look forward to being up front soon.

Competitive Highlights

After three years of racing I have had only one DNF and one DNS, on seperate occassions. I have always finished in the top 5 in every series I have raced in. In 2006, I was chosen to compete in the Amp'd Mobile Houston Supercross KTM Junior Supercross event, and that was awesome just to ride in front of my hometown crowd and to share that experience with my dad and family. I also qualified for the 2007 NMA Ponca City Grand National, and we made the trip to Oklahoma last summer. Earlier in 2008 I finished The Houston Holeshot Championship Series, and after 6 races I finished 5th in the overall points in the 85cc 7-11 Class. I started riding my 85 only a few weeks before the series started, so I am very happy with the results.
