Personal History
When I was 3 1/2 years old my dad put me on a Suzuki Jr 50. taught me the fundamentals and sent me down the street. It was truly love at first ride. Over the next few years, I progressed with the help of a great teacher, my father, Kevin Yarnell. He taught me many of his tricks and riding techniques.Because of him, I have won two age group championships and one overall family enduro championship for District 36. I have had a few setbacks in my racing career as my father broke his back in 2006 and in 2008 his neck. My most recent setback was a broken pelvis I received while playing soccer for my high school in December 2012. I continued to play as the doctors did not diagnose it until March of 2013. In November 2014 I had surgery to correct the problem and in May was released to start riding again. I love school and have a GPA of 4.11 with an AP calculus score of a 5.
Riding Goals
My goal is to come back in full force for the 2015 D36 enduro and cross country season. My lifetime goal is to race for the USA on a club team at the ISDE, like my father did in 1996 in Finland.
Competitive Highlights
One of the most memorable highlights of my career is racing the Hollister 6 hour as a family team in June 2012. It was very hot and it was really the first time I had ever ridden my new KTM 150XS. We fought hard against another team and pulled off the victory. That was a great day. Another highlight was racing the D36 Family enduro series with my dad. I won the Boys 13-15 class and won the Family Enduro series overall.
