Personal History
I grew up in the desert around Nevada and Utah. I moved to Jackson, Wyoming when I was 18. After working in various fields, I started my own welding company; Cold Mountain Fabrication and have been operating solid for 8 years. My welding consists mostly of pipe but I have also worked on gas and oil rigs and construction. I have a wife and two kids; ages 2 and 5. We spend a lot of time hunting, fishing, and playing around the various lakes and rivers around our area. The girls enjoy getting out riding their bikes and going to rodeos with my wife. I spend a lot my spare time riding various trails around our area. We are lucky to have The Big Holes an hour west of us in Idaho, which offers difficult and fun terrain to practice on. We started Cold Mountain Racing where we promote a local endurocross race. 2013 was our first year and we managed to bring in 196 riders. We are expecting a larger turnout this September.http://m.facebook.com/cmracingproduction
Riding Goals
This year I'm hoping to find more desert and enduro races and work into the Baja 1000. My goal for 2015 would be to hit all of the Baja races including the Imperial Valley 250, Baja 500 and Baja 1000. My ultimate goal for 2015 would be to iron man both the 500 and the 1000. I would also like to get into the Best in the Desert series in Nevada. I enjoy these races for the challenges they present mentally, physically as well as bike mechanics. I love the wide open, the speed, and the thrill of not knowing what's in front of you. Pushing yourself to the max of your abilities, riding outside your comfort zone and finding the mental edge to stay in control and finish regardless of the obstacles you may encounter.
Competitive Highlights
March 2014 - Blackfoot, ID - Blackfoot Endurocross - Third place
June 2014 - Baja 500 - second place
August 2014 - Wyoming Trials competition in Casper - Fourth Place
Winter presents very limited riding options here in Wyoming so I took that time to step into the gym with a personal trainer and prepare for Baja. I also spent a couple weeks desert riding in Phoenix, Arizona and St. George, Utah.
