First desert race in 18mo since I broke my wrist and tore my shoulder. Also the first race on the Husky. Despite being way out of practice and out of shape I had a great race start to finish. Placed 15th overall for the whole event! I’m only a few minutes off the pro pace, with a little more training I’ll be right there!

In order to let a few injuries heal and make sure I'm 100% on the bike, I've elected to skip the first two rounds of the USRA series this year. Since there are two drops and most riders miss at least 3, I think I'll be ok. Round 3 has been cancelled, so it will be Round 4 in Price, Utah on March 30th. I may enter the AMA Big 6 on 3/1 for some practice.

First ride out on the new bike was a success! Definitely different than the Yamaha but it feels good to be back on a Euro bike. That hydraulic clutch.... Time to start setting it up for the 2019 season. Suspension was just done by the MotoXperts and feels awesome. Need an spark arrested exhaust, graphics, and some new gear for myself before the first race!!!

Got my first desert racing win today!!! 1st Place 30+ Expert, and 16th overall for the whole race (pros included) The course was very dry, lots of blind racing due to the dust but I stayed on the gas! Having my suspension dialed in by the MotoXperts helped tremendously. Excited for the National coming up in a few weeks!

Round 2 of the USRA desert series, the 35th annual “Rhino Rally” in St. George Utah is over. What a challenging race! I rode smart, got a great start, didn’t fall, and finished! Took 7th in 30+ Expert and 33rd overall out of 300 riders. I was strong the first half of the race, coming into the trail in 4th after the Expert mass start, running 2nd for about 20 miles. Honestly it’s the deep sand that got me. Being from New England, I’m just not used to it plus my main goal was to finish and not get hurt. I’m going to train hard this month, try to build up some endurance, and make some adjustments for round 3 in Price, Utah. The terrain in the next couple races is much more technical and definitely plays to my strengths as a rider. Shooting for top 3 next race!

Had my first experience with the Tubliss system today. The ability to run a lower tire pressure nearly doubled traction in corners! I had no idea what I was missing!

Great day out in Green River Utah! Did everything from Slickrock to desert single track. We covered over 65mi. The bike felt great, really starting to get it dialed!
