Rider Updates

Jamie Cox competed in the Cambridge Auto Championship in 2007. The championship had him travel from southern England up to the North of England and stretching west into Wales. There was some very stiff competition in the championship with some of the fastest auto riders in the country riding in the championship. Jamie rode hard all season and managed to seal the championship up with three rounds to go.
With winning the championship Jamie has won tuning for his 65 next season from Mtech (one of the most respected tuners in the UK) and tyre sponsorship for the year from Golden Tyres who sponsored the Cambridge championship this year.
Jamie is now looking to put all his auto experience into next season on the 65 and hopes for the same success.

Fab Racing (UK importers for Metrakit) contacted Jamie to see if he would race the new auto here in the UK. He raced it in one of his championship rounds At the Tony Moto track in Hampshire.
Jamie had very little time for set up and done the best with the help of the Metrakit mechanics from Spain. With the bike in pretty good shape he managed to get 3 very good seconds through the day with Jamie and the first place rider Josh Bunter clearing off from the rest. Jamie did pass Josh to lead for a while in race one but it was not ment to be. Jamie was a little dissapointed with the result as he felt the machine was a winner and with a little more time on the pegg's and a little more set up with the big wheels thinks it could have been a different result. The bike was adjusted through the day and more was found out ready for the release of the machine in October 2007.
Jamie was very impressed for the first outing and would love to ride the Metrakit 65 which could well be out in 2008 as he was so impressed with the stock auto.

Jamie went out on day one to qualify. Went out the gat almost last and raced up to second place. He got a little carried away and high sided landing on his head and shoulder. He climbed back on as soon as he could and rode in to qualify 6th. Day two saw some good hard racing between the boys and Jamie rode in to get third over all.

JAMIE GETS AWARDED MOST PROMISING NEW COMER FOR THE PORTSMOUTH CLUB. HE MUST BE STRONGER THAN I THOUGHT AS HE MANAGED TO LIFT THE HUGE TROPHY. JAMIE ENDED UP 9TH OVER ALL IN THE 2005 SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP, NOT BAD AS AT THE START OF THE YEAR WE WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH TOP 15 FOR HIS FIRST SEASON. HE WAS PRESENTED HIS TROPHY BY STEVEN SWORD.
