Personal History
I am Jake Posey from Easley, SC. I am a hard working, small town guy who gets up every morning and goes to work. I work hard to balance my motocross career and also being a CNC programmer at Hartness International(www.hartness.com). I spend my evenings in the gym and weekends at the races. It is a very tough job being split between trying to chase my dream and also work towards my future after racing. I started racing when i was 5 years old and raced until I was 12. My parents made me quit because of injuries and the cost of racing. I then did everything i could for the next 7 years to get a bike again. Finally, at 19 I got a bike and started racing C class. I won a few races and moved to B class. Spent a season and a half in B now i've been in A class for almost a full season. I've had a lot of ups and downs for the 11 years i've been on the bike but I am thankful and blessed to have the oppurtunity to chase my dream. I represent my sponsors in a professional manner on and off the track. I feel as a Pro I am a role model to the young guys coming up. I want those little guys and girls to look up to me as a racer and as a person and their parents feel confident I am a positive influence on them. I feel that is one of my strong points. I always take the time for the little ones and they always want what gear I have on or what shoes I'm wearing and mom and dad go buy it for them. Motocross is a family sport and I travel with my family to 90% of my races. We are a tight group and they support me and the people who help me 150%. I feel like I am a great person to advertise and represent your products! I look forward to this season and starting a great working relationship with you. Thank you so much for looking and I look forward to working with you!
Riding Goals
This year I want to race some of the local arenacross races in my area to get warmed up for some of the national arenacross races I plan to race this year. I want to earn enough points to get my pro license and race some supercross lites and 450 outdoor motocross. I will also prepare for loretta lynn's and go through the qualifying procedures to make sure I get the most out of my season. I think 2011 will be a great season.
Competitive Highlights
I won 9 series championships as a kid before my parents made me quit. I have won several local B class and A class races. I won the 2009-2010 victory-sports indoor motocross series overall championship in the collegeboy class. I was 3rd alternate for Loretta Lynns in 250 pro in 2010. I blew my knee out why leading the victory-sport ultra and mega series' in the 250 A class. This was also 2 weeks before lorettas. I went to lorettas and rode practice but the pain was too much to bare. I had ACL, MCL, and Meniscus surgery the following week. I am back on the bike early because I worked hard in therapy and I'm excited and eager to be back riding!
