Personal History

Hi, my name is Jake Owens # 982, I just turned 10 and I ride a 2014 KTM 65SX. I started begging my parents to let me race when I was 7. We didn't know much about racing motocross and finally at the end of the 2014 year they took me to my first race. I got 5 races in on my 2007 Suzuki RM 65 before the racing season was over and I was hooked! Showing my interest and much improvement with every race I got my KTM for the 2015 year.

My whole family is as dedicated to the sport as I am and do anything to help me reach my goals. Both my mom and dad put countless hours in working to pay for my races and traveling, making sure I have everything I need, ordering and running for parts, packing and unpacking for races every weekend, keeping EVERYTHING I have looking like new, and most importantly keeping me and my bike going!

I have a small track that I practice on and have made some good friends while racing that have invited me to ride at their tracks. I know I have a couple kids younger than me that look up to me, even though I am only 10 I am learning what that means and the importance of it because I have a couple of riders that I look up to too, # 273 Sam Spinella and # 541 Andy Bristol.
