Personal History

Jake Mitchell is 12 years old and in his first season racing flat track. Jakes family has raced flat track for 25 plus years and many still racing today. Cousin Danny Perkins raced the professional series in Flat Track and Speedway, and now Danny coaches Jake along with the help of two other former pro's (Chris Cannon, Larkin Wight). Jake is being viewed as the rookie to watch, he is going to win his class at Southern California Flat Track this year. People are saying things such as "this kid has got something", "he has a career ahead of him, the way he rides". Jake will more than likely go for his pro license at the minimum age of 16 years, if he continues the way he rides today.

Jake is a straight A student, he rides next to his little sister, and is a very encouraging brother. Jake is competitive but also very humble in his wins, he always goes and shakes riders hands win or lose, a true sportman.

Riding Goals

Jake started on 100cc four stroke and will race 85cc 2 stroke next year to learn some power control, and going fast. Jake will move up to 250cc 4 stroke in a couple years and to 450cc after that. He will move up at his pace and only when he is ready; it is up to him not anyone else. Jake wants to ride the professional circuit and get into the national circuit, and with some sponsorship help we can make this happen for him this year.

Competitive Highlights

Jake has taken first place 5 times of the last 6 races. Jake took 1st place in a Hells on Wheels race, and is on target to win his class for the season; his rookie year.
