Personal History

Hi my name is 'Shakey' Jake Maiden.

I have been interested in motorcycles since a young boy (about 4 years old) when I was introduced to bikes by my dad. I have always done whatever needed doing to enable me to ride.

I have undergone training to enable me to maintain my bikes, as well as took advice from other riders to hone my skills.

I'm currently 16 years old and ride a Honda CRF 250R 2008 I have just purchased this bike due to my CRF 250R 2006 being stolen 2 months ago, 4 races into my 1st full season.

Im currently attending a Motor Vehicle Technician collage course that allthough is structured towards cars I believe will assist in my knowledge to repair Motorbikes. I will have NVQs on finishing this course.

I ride a 50cc Moped daily to get about.

I work 4 days a week at a local stone masons that helps with my fitness as well as providing me with an income to spend on my bikes and get me to the track.

I have an ebay account that i use to buy and sell motorcross parts new and used again to assist with the funding required to get me onto the track.

We have a 2002 Transit van that offers oppourtunities for company advertising again that helps fund my racing.

Riding Goals

I hope to compete in the remaining 14 YMSA MIDS events throughout this year, and aquire sponsorship to assist me with being competitive next season. I'm looking for a mid pack finish to the championship this year, due to my bike being stolen leaving me unable to compete in the last 6 events.

I would like to take part in at least 1 beach race.

I will have my website up and running offering advertising oppourtunities, spare parts and information on my mx season.

I will complete my NVQ level 3 at colledge.

I will pass my motorcycle and Driving Test depending on available monies.

Competitive Highlights

I have had a 5th place on my 1st outing this year in the snow after a fall.

I have practised on track with Ben Townley and Jake Nicholls at FAT CAt Motor Parc Armthorpe Doncaster. Ben offered advice and was an inspiration to me.
