Personal History

My name is Jake, but my nickname is Snake. I am fourteen years old and have a younger sister, Katie, who is ten. My dad used to race bikes, and he taught me how to ride and race. My mom and grandparents also give me a lot of support. When not riding my motorcycle, I participate in Martial Arts training, three times a week. I also like to hang out with friends, play video games, ride my bicycle, play with my basset hounds, or go camping with my family.

Riding Goals

3/2014 Started adding endurance races to my resume. Competed in the SIDRA Sand City 100 last weekend. It was a a blast, but brutal. The first 15 miles or so were sand whoops. I'm headed out to a National Hare and Hound race this weekend to give it another try.

Took 2nd in class at the AMA NHHA Rabbit Creek race. I am stoked! It was another grind of a race, but I am getting faster! My goal for this year is to get settled in to the desert racing style. I would like to finish in the top ten year end points for my SIDRA class, and be ready to move to Lightweight B class next year with a head of steam! I also want to enter a few more National races this year. One in Utah and another in Nevada.

Competitive Highlights

I started racing in November of 2008 at the OMC Indoor flat track series. I rode a Yamaha TTR 90 in the four stroke 80cc-90cc class. I won two races, placed second in two races, and was third in one race. I won the series points standings for 2008-2009.

In July of 2009 I moved to a KTM 65 SX. I entered my first MX race at the end of August, at Clay Peak Raceway, in Payette, Idaho. I took second in the first moto and first in the second moto, for first place over all in the beginner 65cc.

I won the 65 beginner Championship for flat track in 2009, and the 65 advanced Championship in 2010. Started my first traveling mx series in spring 2010, competing in 65 advanced and 85 beginner classes.

2011/2012 Champ of the Caldwell flat track series this year. Now my little sister is racing her 4-wheeler and she was the season champ also. It's awesome. This year will be a little more challenging for me. I am the youngest rider in my class and am just getting comfortable on my KTM 144. But I should be able to go out and be pretty competitive. At least I'm gonna put out enough effort that I might wreck trying!

2014 Started racing the desert. I am a member of SIDRA and I am competing in the C class this year. I also raced an NHHA AMA race in March. I finished 2nd in my class, 86cc-200cc C class. It is a whole different world than MX, but i am up for the challenge! So far, I am loving the desert!
