Personal History

My name is Jake Diehl, I currently live in Upstate New York, near Lake Placid.  I began trail riding when I was eight years old in Northern California on a KX65.  I now ride on Hondas, a CRF250R, and a CR125.  At this young age I knew I was destined to ride MX for the rest of my life.  I always wanted to race and was unable to because of my parent's jobs.  They both work crazy shift work hours in Federal Law Enforcement, and weekends off were slim and far in between.  We moved to New York when I was 10 where I continued to ride daily as long as the weather permitted.  In 2007 my mom took me to my first AMA sanctioned race for the Central New York Motorcycle Riders Association; CNYMRA.  I competed in the 125 Novice and Schoolboy class.  I will never forget this day as I earned my first trophy in the Schoolboy class placing overall 4th place.  The 125 Novice class was a little harder as there was a full line of 32 bikes, I qualified for the 2nd moto but don't remember where I finished in either moto, and I did not take home a trophy for that class.  But, that did start my continous qualifying motos as I have never had to race in a last chance qualifying consi.  The summer of 2008 I was able to attend more races.  I raced Supercross at Royal Mountain Ski Area in Caroga Lake, New York, where I was able to win several hole-shots and come off with overall 1st place in the 122-250 Novice class.  This earned me to become the Series Champion for the 2008 Season.  I additionally raced in the 250 Open class placing within the top 4 riders.  I additionally began racing in AMA's District 3, Central New York Motorcycle Riders Association.  The races I can attend and tracks are limited due to distance,  so I am unable to attend every race.  I have currently raced only 7 of the 23 sanctioned races and am holding the #7 spot for the 122-250 Class.  I was promoted to Amateur this year after earning six tropies.  I practically live for riding, but I also enjoy snow boarding, wake boarding, knee boarding and aggressive inline skating.  I guess you can say Im just a little wild and like to live on the edge.  I am a Junior in high school, and am a member of the National Honor Society.   In addition to racing this past Summer I held down a part-time job working 32 hours a week.

Riding Goals

My goal for the 2009 racing season, is to attend more races than ever.  I am hoping to be able to qualify and attend Loretta Lynns next year.  I love going to the track and hanging out with my friends and family.  This Winter I plan on working out, and staying in good shape so I will be ready to go in the Spring when the snow melts. I will also be doing arena cross this winter in Baltimore.
