Personal History
I am 13 years old and my name is Jaimie. I love motocross racing because it is so fun and I love the adrenaline rush and I think I am good at it.
When I am on the track, I feel pumped, confident, smart and successful. I can beat 38 year old men in my races and I feel great! I really want to keep racing. Racing makes me feel different as a person. People talk to me and think I'm "number one". I took two first place trophies in the BC Provincial Champions this past weekend. It was so cool because my parents didn't tell me how I placed in the first two motos the day before and the third moto on the last day determined placement.......I didn't even know I won. It was so exciting for my family. Motocross has made my family happier because we are spending lots more time together now. I really want to keep racing. My dream is to become a Pro.
Riding Goals
I want to learn everything I can about motocross racing. I would like to take some lessons because I have learned all I know by asking a question at a time from other racers.
I want to learn everything I can about my bike, how to fix more things, take it apart/put together. I want to know why and how things work. I am learning everyday.
I want to spend lots of time doing the above stuff with my Dad.
I want to keep racing and hopefully become a Pro.
Competitive Highlights
April 2008 - My first race ever in Campbell River. I don't look at my race results, didn't even know where or what they were. I was just excited about racing in a race with other bikes. When my mom took me up to the tower to see how I did, she knew I had a trophy for third place, but I didn't know. That was the best feeling ever. Made me feel so great! We checked in at the tower and they handed me a trophy. Mom says you couldn't keep the smile off my face. I told my mom we were going to have to get a trophy case.
June 2008 - My fourth race. Did pretty good. Took two third place trophies home.
July 4-6, 2008 - BC Provincial Championship Races
I had a big fall on one of my motos and didn't think I did very well. Again I don't look at race results but mom and dad do. The first motos (125 beginner and GP beginner classes), mom said I had first for both classes at the end of the first day. The last set of motos, I didn't think I did so well on one of them because it was back to back racing and I was tired and it was the last moto of the day. We went to pack up because race results take 1/2 hour to post. Time we got back, results had been posted and taken down. None of my family knew how I did on the last moto.
I took the 125 beginner FIRST PLACE FOR BC PROVINIALS and
I took the GP beginner FIRST PLACE FOR BC PROVINCIALS
I got two CMRC jackets and two first place trophies. Told mom I was right about the trophy case as now I have five.
I love this sport so much!
