In only his second season, Pina's hard work and training pay big dividends. He earned his first Series Championship, placing 1st overall in the 51cc 7-8 class. This was also his very first series competing on a 65cc machine, earning an impressive 3rd place overall finish. Jacob looks forward to many more championship seasons in the future, and continues to train hard to this end.

In the much tighter confines of the Supercross style Calhoun SX, Jacob just completed his first Calhoun Motosports Championship Series. Pina showcased his riding versatility all season long, and had lots of fun racing on this style of track. He finished 2nd place overall in the 65cc D 7-11 class, as well as 2nd place overall in the 51cc Open 4-8 class. He plans on continuing to get more experience on this style of track during the winter. Calhoun Motosports will host a Winter Series, and Pina plans on racing some select rounds to prepare for his first Arenacross races.

After only two weeks of training with former AMA Pro Motocrosser Adam Free, Jacob's hard work is rewarded in a big way! Saturday night at Rd. 9 of the Calhoun Motosports Championship Series, he dominated the 51cc Open Class. He was on his game and swept both moto's with 1st place finishes. In the 65cc D Class, he also shined bright, battling with riders that he has never been able to keep up with to this point. He finished 3-4, and is more motivated than ever to keep training hard, and keep getting stronger and faster.

I am very pleased with my performance this weekend at the Suzuki Battle of The States. It was held at Lazy River MX in Chatsworth, GA, and it was my very first time participating in AMA Sanctioned Competition. It was also my first time to put my skills to the test against National caliber racers. In the 65cc 6-11 Beginner class, I enjoyed 2 strong moto's and earned a 7th place overall finish. I also competed in the faster 65cc 7-9 class, and fought hard for an overall 12th place finish. Although I may have fallen short of my goal, finishing in the top 5 in both classes, I walked away feeling more confident than ever in knowing that I have much to look forward to as I continue to improve on my skills. I also gained some very valuable experience in racing against competitors of this caliber, and I know exactly where I stand and what I need to work on. Of course it wasn't all work and no play. I had tons of fun with a couple of my good rider friends who also attended, and made some new friends which is always one of the best parts about being at the track. I am definitely ready for my next AMA competition in 2 weeks at AMP MX, where the annual Fall Classic will be held.

I am officially announcing that I am fortunate enough to have acquired the services of 2 outstanding Professional MX Trainers. Former AMA Motocross Pro, Adam Free, and renowned MX announcer and owner of Southern MX Training, Gary Avans, have both agreed to begin a serious training regimen with me effective immediately. I am very thrilled that they have both seen enough potential in me to accept me as a student. I am truly expecting very great things to happen, as I know for sure that they will take my skills to a whole new level. I offer a huge thank you to both, and WELCOME TO THE PINA FAMILY RACE TEAM!

I am proud and excited to announce that I am now officially a member of the AMA! I am looking forward to my first 2 AMA races this month and next month. I will be racing at Lazy River MX in Dalton, GA during the last weekend in Sep, 2011. I will also be racing in the Fall Classic at Amp MX in early Oct, 2011. Now that I am a member, I will be changing my racing number to #127 in the near future.
