Personal History

My name is Jacob Kaiser and I love motorcycles. Motocross in particular – more on that in a second.

I have lived my entire life in the great state of South Carolina. For almost as long, I’ve been in love with two-wheeled motorsport. I didn’t get started as early as most up-and-coming AMA Supercross Champions, my dad buying me my first dirt bike at 11 years old. Nevertheless, my life has been molded by motorcycling ever since. In high school, I took as many small engine repair, machine tool operations and auto collision repair courses as my school’s technology center offered. At 16, I bought my first street bike and rode it everywhere.

Throughout undergraduate college, my primary mode of transportation was two wheels. My Yamaha R1 took me to every day of class, every all-nighter, all of the various science club meetings, science conferences and all of my research work. It was instrumental in the pursuit of my other life goal – to help my fellow man through the art of medicine.

When I was finally accepted to medical school in 2016, and my hard work had paid off, I decided it was time to turn my motorsport enthusiasm up a notch and go racing. I found myself a 2014 YZ450F, and it took me back to that first day in the dirt on my TT-R 125 all those years ago.

Off-road motorsport offers a uniquely inexpensive way to get into 2 wheeled racing, and – with a little bit of mechanical know-how – I have been able to successfully afford racing, albeit barely.

Currently I am a weekend warrior with my wife, Helen. We call ourselves Fast Dog Racing – a nod to our beloved dogs and their need to get out and run as fast as possible (and they do. All. The. Time.) - and we attend local and regional motocross races throughout the southeast. Motorsport has become a way of life for us, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
