Personal History
Due to my upbringing, I didn't have access to a lot of outdoor sports growing up. I've attempted a few sports in general when I was in school and nothing really clicked. In recent months, I've learned about Electric Unicycles (EUCs) and have had a blast riding as well as meeting new friends.
In the past year, I've pivoted all of my extracurricular activities outside of work to be around EUC riding and repairs.
Riding Goals
I never though I had a competitive nature in me until I get on the wheel. When the environment is setup for me to go fast on pavement, that adrenaline rush is like nothing I've experienced before. I was hooked after my first locally hosted track event. I'm interested and have participated in dirt races as well, but pavement racing in the EUC class is where my heart is.
My goal is to attend our local intro2speed track days as well as several national race events. There is one coming up hosted by Electrify Race League in October, and they will be hosting several across the US throughout next year.
Competitive Highlights
Since I've started racing EUCs, I've attended 3 separate race events in our local I2S chapter where I placed 1st. In my community, EUC riders have grown exponentially but there aren't enough racers.
The race group I am a member of (NCESK8) is a sponsored race team in the ESK8 world. We're looking to break into the community with EUC as it's gaining popularity very fast. We've been very successful in hosting race and demo events with options to raffle items off to gain attraction.
