If it has a throttle I love it! I have been riding dirt bikes since I was three years old. I love everything about motocross. I am 11 years old and this is my 2nd year of racing.
I am the most proud of winning the 2022 Dedication and Desire Award this season.
This award is voted on by all of the riders in our province. It is given to a rider that shows:
"grace and humility whether win or lose, given encouragement and help,
on and off the track and simply for someone who participates for the love of the ride."
I like to help other riders by encouraging them in gate with a fist bump and a good luck! This season I had the chance to lend out my practice bike to a fellow competitor when his motor blew. I know how I would feel if I couldn't ride in a race because my bike broke. We told him "ride it like you stole it"! It made me feel good to give him a chance to compete that day.
Riding Goals
My goal is to win the Provincial Championship Series in Saskatchewan and compete in the TransCan Grand National Championship in August 2023.
I plan on training in Florida this winter and competing in as many races as I can this season. I am currently competing in 4GMX Arenacross Series in Rapid City and in 2nd place in the 65 cc class.
My first year racing ('21) I placed 7th in the province. This year ('22), I made a goal to win a race and that is what I did. Now my wall is covered in plaques. It has been quite a journey of never winning a plaque in my first year (but wanting to so bad!), to having a wall full of them in my 2nd year. I got my 1st hole shot at the first race of this season - and haven't looked back- literally. I got the majority of the holeshots in my motos this year.
After last season finished, my mom asked me if I wanted to race again and what is my goal is with motocross. Well, Yes - of course I want to race next year but also I want to win a race!
She said most kids that I ride against have been racing since 4 yrs old, have more experience racing and work hard training all season. She said they don't just hand out 1st place to everyone in motocross. She said I would have to train lots and work really hard to earn one. So that is what I did. I am so thankful my family took me to so many races. I did over 50 motos this year over, we travelled many weekends and it was so much fun! This year I placed 4th overall and finished out the season getting 1st place finishes in the last races of the season. I was very pleased with winning the final race of the season against some tough competition. I just wish I could have ridden like I did in the last race in my first races of the season, those 1st place finishes at the end weren't enough to move the needle in points to get podium this season (2 points shy!) But 2023 is my shot at the championship!
This season, my plan is to work hard on improving my riding and take the Provincial Championship in the 65 cc class. This is my last season in the 65 cc class and I am on track to win it!
