Personal History
All through my life I have had to struggle and fight to do things. I was born with Asthma, Acid Reflux, and Spherocytosis. Because of this I have had surgery to remove my spleen, and to have my stomach opening condensed. Asthma has made it difficult for me to do sports but that never stopped me from working my hardest at getting better. Over the past year my Asthma has gotten much better thanks to the doctors at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
I come from two generations of racers. My grandfather was known as Flying Doug and he owned a motocross track. My dad grew up riding and when he started racing he was very hard to beat. My little sister also rides. I have raced on and off my whole life, but I started riding when I was about three. Ever since I started I have loved being on my dirt bike and there is nothing I would rather be doing. My family likes to go to South dakota on vacation to ride.
This year I was hit with another challenge. On January 28th I was at a race in Waterloo, IA. I hit a jump and didn't get quite far enough. My leg got caught and I ended up breaking my lower leg. It will be healed Before half of the season is over and I will be able to make it to most of the races.
Riding Goals
My goals are to have fun and do good. I want to get better and faster. I hope to do get enough this year so that I can move up to the next class.
Competitive Highlights
In 2005 I entered my first race. I got 2nd. Over the next few years my racers ranged from second to 6th. My first win came in 2009 in Dayton, IA. Last year I only got to go to three races before I broke my collar bone. In logan I got a bad start and after the first lap I was in 26th place. I ended up 7th in that race. That race was some of the most fun I had ever had on my dirt bike even though it was 90 degrees outside.
