At only 4 years of age, he was the youngest racer in the 4-6 driving shaft divisions. He placed third overall and finished the season in 5th place amongst 20 participants.
At age 5 he represented his region fabulously in placing in all categories:
- 4-6years old open, he finished 3rd and missed on race
- 4-8 years old category, he also finished in 3rd place
- 4-6 years old driving shaft category, he finished in 2nd place after having to surrender twice due to mechanical problems

By age 6, Ismael reached his goal to finish in first place overall

- East-West Quebec Shout Champion
Which earned him the title of “Champion Quebecois 2007”
In September 2007 Ismael took part in two races south of the border taking third place and 5th place due to mechanical problems.
In September 2007, he was also selected by KTM Canada to participate in the KTM Mini Star at the Olympic Stadium. He was representing the Eastern part of Quebec. He was the youngest on the starting line. After having drawn the “hotshot” he was in third position and half a turn upon the finishing line he took a fall to finish in 6th position.
In March 2008, he was chosen by KTM Canada to participate in the 12th edition Supercross North American Challenge at the Toronto Skydome. He quickly made his mark by departing amongst the first three racers but mechanical problems slowed him down leaving him in last place. Luckily he restarted and brought himself back to finish in 8th position. His perseverance and goal driven mindset always reminding him and pushing him to attain his goal.
At 7 years of age, he yet challenged himself again by being the youngest racer to venture with his 65cc amongst the 6-9 years old category onto the adult racing course. Not only did he have to acquire a manual transmission, he had also set a goal of finishing within the top 10.
- 6-9 years of age, 65cc finishing in 6th place
- 6-11 years old, Elite, 65cc finishing in 5th place
Due to budgetary restraints, Ismael had to stop motocross racing for a few years. In turn Ismael started BMX racing where he too performed well.
We now live in Victoria, British Columbia. We are fortunate to live only a few minutes from a motocross racing track. Luckily, we can ride nearly 12 months out of the year here. Ismael’s passion for racing has always remained strong in his heart. He started racing again occasionally by renting a dirt bike at the local track. The owner of the motocross racetrack saw potential in Ismael and hired him to teach summer camps, and to give lessons to beginners during birthday parties. After having saved his money and with the help of his father, Ismael was able to purchase himself a KTM 85cc.
Ismael started to participate in a few local races and proved himself immediately. He raced with his 85cc in the junior pro class and finished in 5th position.
On October 19, 2014 he took part in an official BC race where he took first place but due to an accident fell off his bike to get back up to finish in 3rd place.
On October 2014 he participate to canada’s arenacross and finish on 3rd place overall.
Ismael is a dedicated grade 9 student at l’Ecole Victor-Brodeur in Victoria, British Columbia. He is bilingual and wishes to continue to grow within this sport in hopes to become a professional racer in a few years like his friends Marco Dubé and Jean-Sébastien Roy .
