Personal History
My name is Iann Riley. I am 16 years old and in 11th grade. I maintain a 3.7 GPA while taking honors and AP classes. I love motocross!
I started riding 3 years ago when I bought my first pitbike. Since then motocross has been in my blood. I was able to move up to an 85cc and then in the summer of 2019 I moved up to 125cc-2 stroke. I completed my first race in summer 2019 and realized this is my passion but also realized I had a lot of work ahead of me. This past summer, 2020, I was dedicated to riding and training. I love the fitness aspect of racing so I stay in shape by working out daily and after cardio and weights I do recovery cycle rides. I spend a lot of time watching videos and analyzing the craft through races and race techniques. I realize I started much later than most riders in this sport, however, I have been doing everything possible to learn about the sport and grow exponentially.
I enjoy every part of this sport whether its maintenance, working-out, studying, and of course riding and racing. I am from the mid-west so the weather does not let me train as much in winter months. I will be looking for some week long training camps to attend and will travel to the couple indoor tracks to keep working.
I do not have a personal track. The closest tracks to me are at least 1 1/2 hours away - I feel this proves my dedicatoin and commitment. I am willing to put the work in and do whatever it takes to be great at this sport.
Riding Goals
My main goal is to continue to learn and improve every day as a rider and ultimately go pro.
My 2021 season goal is to be in the best race shape as possible, complete a minimum of 15 races and qualify for Loretta Lynn's in the 125C/250C junior class. With the goal to then ride B class in the 2022 season.
Competitive Highlights
I love racing and I always give it my all! The 2020 race season was odd for many given the pandemic. I was able to complete 5 races with 2 podiums in the 125cc open class in District-17 which placed me 9th overal in the district. Along with placing 4th overall in the Arsenal Series (IL).
My strengths include starting up front, endurance, and being a very consistent rider. Races tend to enhance my competitive edge and working to gain a position pushes me.
