Rider Updates

Finally back to racing after 3 months off due to a broken wrist I sustained in my last race (though I soldiered on to still finish). Felt weak and rusty, but our team stayed consistent and brought home the win. Looking forward to getting back into riding shape!

Great official start to my 2016 racing schedule. New bike is amazing, I just need to work myself up to it's potential. Thank you to all for your ongoing support!

Just had an amazing weekend, at my favorite race of the year, the 43rd running of the Virginia City Grand Prix. The weather caught us off guard this year, as it snowed multiple times... Last year we were all wearing tank-tops and shorts! Come racetime, you just have to put your head down and ride hard though, regardless of the weather. By doing just that I was able to capture the win in a new class, 40+ Amateur, and ended up 56th Overall out of 422 entrants and 37 Pros. I was a bit shocked, but consistency paid off, and by capturing this win I will be riding the Expert next year. BRING IT ON!

Starting this year the 30+ B class is running the Long Course (2.5 hours vs. 1.5 hours last year) and what an event to add another hour onto. Horn Rapids is a fast and rough sandy course. It had variety of whhops, chop and turns.... A man's man course to be sure, and it was gnarly last year, even more so riding after the short course guys did their damage to it.
In the end, I got a great start and stayed up front all day, finishing 2nd in my class, much better then last year when I ran out of fuel and ended up 11th!

Holeshot! What better way to start off the last event of Worcs Bike Week? On a typical day in Washington, weather looming, but unknowing if it would turn to rain or sun, round 8 of Worcs started off with a bang in the 30 + B class.
After grabbing the holeshot, I settled in a solid pace and kept it on two wheel through the slimey terrain to soldier onto a 2nd place finish. Kept the leader honest, and wanted to challeneg for the win, but in the end I knew I had the rest of the field covered for the Worcs Bike Week National Championship.
I would like to thank all those that stood behind me and helped me achieve this goal, with out all of the support it wouldnt have happened.

Worcs-X is much like Endurocross, with lots of man made obstacles and carnage. Started great until 1/2 way thru the first turn my holeshot was ruined by an out of control rider leaving us dead last and tangled up. Once I was able to get going, I worked my way to 5th, but could have been so much better...
In the Worcs race I holeshot, then rode smart to finish, 2nd on a dreary and rainy day. The course was really turning ugly, forcing a few changes mid day because of too slick hills. Was happy to make it home with out major incidents, though would have preferred the win!

Not only did I have a great day of racing, I also have found myself in the top spot for the Worcs Week National Championship. With 2 rounds of the four done, Currently leading the Series and looking to extend my lead with the next event, WorcsCross ( ie: Endurocross) on Friday.

Attended my first HS event at Round 1 of the Team Tortise Triple Crown @ Riverdale Raceway on April 18th. It was an eye opening event for sure, with a great turn out. The weather turned out to be quite nice on race day, but many of us wondered how the track would fair due to all the past rain, we would soon find out.
The moto areas were spot on, but the offroad areas were pretty swamped out for the most part, turning into a deep rut fest. It was all new to me as well as the fact I would be riding for 1.5 hours.
In the end, I ended up 6th in Vet B class. I would have been right near the podium, but a crash at speed caused an unexpected stop in the pits to reset the whole front end. Either way, I had a blast and am looking forward to Round 2 in a few weeks!

Completed my first desert race yesterday, and boy what a culture shock. I started riding in the high deserts of Northern Nevada and thought I knew what was in store for me, NOT!
While I had a great time, only had one tip over, one course error (followed the wrong guy off the course and went down a 9' vertical shale cliff to get back), I definetly had my eyes opened to how different the terrain was. The stock suspension with my 235 lbs sans gear made for a decidely rough ride. The loose and half buried rocks really took their toll on me, to the tune of 13 blisters on my hands.
Reguardless, I will be back next year, and will make sure to do some more setup prior and will be doing more offroad event in the future!

I was hired on 2 Jan 2008 by the Olympia Fire Department, and as such have'nt been riding due to the probationary period. That ends ! Jan 2009 though, so I will be hitting the track hard very soon.
I would like to thank all the sponsors that backed me, as I acepted the contracts prior to the hiring, but, I have purchased and tried to promote your products to the best of my ability during the off time.
I am looking forward to the next year of racing and promoting the outstanding people and products that stand behind me. Be safe and have fun, but realize in the end, there is only one 1st place trophy.

I have always loved our sport, from the first time a friend let me ride his IT. It was a beast, scary fast for me, and rattled like 20 year old milk truck going down a 70 year old dirt road, but, it got me hooked. Ever since I has always wanted to ride and race motorcycles, with motocross being my main point of attack.
I worked pretty hard at it too. From 1995 until late 2001 I covered 7 states, 15 series, and even trecked out to Branson for the US AM National.
9/11 changed all that for me though, and I felt that my time and efforts were needed in the War on Terror. I once again enlisted in the US Army as a Medic and served in the Iraqi area on two different tours of duty. The down side, becides being away from my friends and family, was that my racing had to take a back seat to my training / work. Little did I know how far back that seat would be.
That all changed when I saw a local dealer selling brand new 2006 Kawasaki KX450Fs for $5000.00 out the door. I could'nt pass it up, and after months of pounding laps, finding new places for blisters, and hooking two of my best friends into racing again, I'm back to attack the track and my competition.
I will be focusing on the Washington State Series, PAC West Series, the Washougal AM. National and attempting to qualify for Loretta Lynn's National ( a life long goal to attend after qualifying on 2 other occasions ). I will be racing in the 30+B, 25+B and 450 B classes.
I look forward to spending time at the races profiling your products and helping spread the word about the great comanies and people our sport has to offer.
