Personal History
Hello my name is Hunter Hobbs . I have been riding atv’s and motorcycles since I was 10. Four years ago at the urging of my next door neighbor Pro rider Mike Brown, I decided to take my riding to the next step and start racing. I am currently 17 years old and just finished my 4th year of Motocross racing. I am currently classified as an AMA "B" class rider. I race 250B, Collegeboy, Schoolboy 1 and 125 Amateur. This will be my last year in Schoolboy1. 2013 has been a bit of a trying year. I have had a couple of bad injuries and bad luck at my Southeastern Regional Qualifier. I suffered a broken hand in April at the Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier. I also just recently suffered a severe concussion and a punctured lung. I had to be taken to the hospital via Ambulance. I will return to my full schedule of racing in Mid- October. At the Loretta Lynn Southeastern Regional Qualifier I was set to make it to Loretta's with a 3rd and 5th finish going into my final moto. During the final Moto another rider go into the rear of my bike and jerked my rear brake line loose. I tried to finish the race but was only able to get a 10th place overall finish and they only take the top 7. I finished strong the rest of the year winning 3 class championships in the Thor United States Mega Series and 1 in the Parts Unlimited Ultra Series. In the Thor United States Mega Series I won the Schoolboy1, Collegeboy and 2-stroke amatuer classes. In the Parts Unlimited Ultra Series I won the Collegeboy class.
Racing Motocross has truly been an adventure. I have met a lot of great people and developed many new friendships over the last couple of years. I played team sports since I was 4 years old and finally decided to try something new a few years ago and gave up Football, Basketball and Baseball to race. I love racing and training to compete. I am a good student and make good grades. I go to public school and don't miss unless I have a race I am attending. I have been brought up in a Christian environment and am a member of Highland Church of Christ. I am involved in the youth program there also. I have been told that I am very mature for my age. With that in mind I will work very hard to promote any sponsors I have to the best of my ability through hard work and dedication to their brands. Thanks for taking time to read a few details about myself.
Riding Goals
This coming year I want to attend some Motocross training programs to improve my technique. I want to try to qualify for Loretta Lynn's Amateur Nationals. I would also like to go to Ponca City and Mini O's in Florida next year. I would like to finish every race I enter in the top 5 of every class. I would also like to finish in the top 5 in points in all of the series I compete in. I want to compete in a couple of the Grand National Cross Country races again this year also. I want to work hard training and stay healthy and injury free. My goals for 2014 include recovery from ACL and MCL repair surgery.
