Personal History
I began playing baseball at the age of 4 and football at 6. My dad was the best coach ever, but in 2009 at the age of 10, I was tired of these sports and the "politics" involved in them. We played competitively and traveled quite a bit, but it just wasn't for me anymore. This was a difficult year for me because my biological mother had been in and out of my life since I was a baby, but in 2009 she signed over rights to my dad and step mom and I was left with a lot of questions. I wanted to start fresh in something and with a clean slate, so I found great comfort in riding my dirt bike around in the yard and woods at my house. During mid season 2009, there was a harescramble held 10 minutes from my house and although my dad and step mom weren't quite sure what they were getting into, they let me race. This was a life changing day for me, because I knew that day what I wanted to do for the rest of my life! Even though that Kawasaki had been through the ringer and wasn't maintained all that well at the time, we got that baby fixed up and I've been racing since. My dad and step mom are my biggest fans and sponsors and have created a stable home and have put their lives into helping make my dreams come true. I am now 13 years old and will be in high school next year and can't wait to see what the future holds for me!
Riding Goals
My 2013 riding goals are to race in either the Mid East Series or GNCC and hopefully win a championship there. My long term goal is to become a professional dirt bike racer. My dad has his CDL and drives a tractor trailer for a living. He's done so much to help me so far that I hope to be able to make it in this sport and be able to pay him to drive a rig for me to the nationals! I have seen myself improve drastically since 2011 when an early season injury almost took me out of the season altogether. I broke my femur and was airlifted to a hospital where I stayed for a week and had a rod and two screws put in. I was told by the doctors, nurses, and physical therapists that my 2011 season would be non-existant. Rather than letting that get me down, it pushed me to work harder and faster to get back in shape and ride. Exactly 7 weeks after breaking my femur, I raced and placed 2nd! I proved to myself and others that I could do whatever I put my heart and mind into. Since that injury and the surgery later that year to remove the rod and screws, I have taken more pride and had more confidence in what I do. I never know when might be my last time to ride, so I make the most of every opportunity I get. My goal is to continue to find ways to improve on my endurance, technique, and speed to be the best I can be and represent my sponsors proudly on the podium.
Competitive Highlights
Although I didn't begin until mid season in 2009, I placed 3rd in Mini D-BW in the NCHSA series. In 2010 I won the Mini D-BW championship in that series. Due to an early season injury in 2011, I had a minor set back. My parents couldn't afford to put me on an 85 or 105 cc like the guys I was competing against, so I just rode my KTM 65 cc and still fifnished 2nd in points in Mini C-BW. During the summer of 2011 I had the chance to help host a charity event at Twin Oaks Mx for the rider Down Foundation. This was an awesome experience and it was great to help them out. At that event I got to ride against Kailub Russell in a pit bike race. Even though he won it was awesome to race with someone I look up to. In 2012, I came back strong and won the Mini B Championship in the NCHSA series.
