The 2011 Super X started off great for Hayden in melbourne where he set the fastest laps in practice for the juniors and also topped the time sheet in the u19 class which cinsisted of current world junior MX champ Joey Savatgy, however after a heat race win the heavens opened, hayden managed a holeshot but went down early in the main he eventually got up to recover a 8 place finish and would prove costly come the end of the series.

round two in wollongong  would be the same again being fastest qualifier, and having a heat race win however the storms rolled in and it poured down so event organisers decided it was best to save the track for the pro's and juniors and u19 class's were cancelled.

round 3 in sydney treated us to blue sky's and a warm day finally, in practice hayden was on rails setting times that would have had him in the top 7 in the pro lites running which included big name riders such as Moss,Faith and eventual round winner Brendan Harrison. Again another heat win and first pick for the final. He came out with the holeshot and started pulling away however with three laps to go he stalled the bike dropped down too fourth and the begin picking them off eventually taking the runner up spot, behind yamaha rider joel Dinsdale. hayden was furious with himself but vowed not to make the same mistake.

Round 4 was Newcastle home town of world sx champion Chad Reed, once again hayden was the pace setter in both practice and heat races, however a horrible start in the main saw him round the first corner in 12th he put on a charge all the way to second and finished right behind the winner Kurt Waterman.

The last round in Brisbane seen hayden once again top both practice and heat race. Then with his last chance

The Australian Junior Nationals were held in Murary Bridge South Australia in 2011 and with over 600 entries and riders from Australia, New Zealand and the USA it was a week of action packed racing.

Hayden Mellross Has spent most of the year racing and living in the USA and it showed as he battled both the wheather condition and 80 other riders to take the under 17 250F National championship with a 2/1/1 moto score card.

Moto One seen terrible conditions with heavy rain over night. A smart ride saw hayden settle for second place after a pretty bad start.

Moto two and three were carbon copies of each other with hayden rocketing out of the gate too grab the holeshot. Lap after lap Hayden laid down the fastest lap times up to three seconds a lap faster than anybody on the track, and rode very smooth races to take home the win.

hayden was stoked with the week and finishing his Junior Career in Australia on a high note " im so pumped i had an awesome week myself  and the American Jordan Smith were the  only guys to get lap Times in the 1.53 so that was cool because he is a top guy over there so this is just another step towards next year when i return to the States" he also  said none of this would be possible with out all the help from my sponsors over the past three years Honda Australia, Thor clothing Australia, Michelin. Also glen bell for all his help, everyone at MTF especially coleen it was cool that she was there to share the moment with my family and most of all my whole family they all do so much behind the scenes and i couldnt do it without them.
