Personal History

Braaaaaaaappp.....My name is Haven Johnson, I am 6 years old from the east coast of North Carolina.  My parents tell me I have no idea how lucky I am to live at the beach and enjoy the sun and sand. I am never idle, always doing something active.  I love to boogie board and dig in the sand, take my razor scooter to the skate park and practice for hours, ride my bicycle around my cul-de-sac, and ride my dirt bike . My dad even set up a ramp for me to practice jumping.

In the fall of 2016 I told my Dad I wanted a dirt bike like the older kids next door.  He laughed and told me I was going to have to learn to ride my bicycle without training wheels first.  2 days later I told him I was ready to take the training wheels off, and we headed to the soccer field to practice.  I mastered 2 wheels pretty quickly, and reminded my dad frequently that I was due a dirt bike. I woke up Christmas morning to a brand new Honda CRF50 and couldn't believe my eyes.  Since then I have been practicing at least once a week, in fields, yards, woods, and finally my dad said I was ready for the MX track.

After a few weeks of practicing on the tracks, I was ready for my first real mx race, and boy was it a tough one.  During my second moto it started pouring rain and the track was a muddy mess. My bike was completely covered in mud and my tires couldn't get traction anywhere. I ended up finishing fourth, but my parents were super proud of me because I FINISHED.  My Dad said those would be the toughest conditions I would ride in for a long time. Even the A class riders were having a tough time. I continued to practice every chance I got, and in my next 4 races on my Honda I finished 1st or second place.

In June 2017, my Dad and I talked about moving up to a 2 stroke class, and I told him I was ready to go FAST.  A few weeks later, he asked me to grab a tool from the garage and I was so surprised to see a new (to me) KTM 50SX Senior sitting out there. I couldn't believe it.  I am practicing harder than ever, I LOVE my 2 stroke and have been improving by leaps and bounds.  I ask to ride almost every day. I'm hooked. I just had my first moto on my new KTM and took home second place. I raced hard and can't wait for the next one in 2 weeks. I know I'm only 5 (almost 6!) but I tell my parents I want to be a Pro MX racer when I grow up.
