Personal History

The adverse affects of the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in a year of craziness and a future of unknown. Even though sales in the motocross industry have increased during this tough economic time, pre-COVID sales were mainly stagnant.  With the potential outlook of the industry to return to that dreary pre-pandemic state, what can businesses do to retain this recently obtained sales growth? With people looking for connection to the things they love in order to escape their current reality, users are looking to places like social media and YouTube more than ever.  The more people feel that they can relate to the industry on a personal level, the more emotional they will feel towards it.  The stronger the emotional reaction, the more they will engage and spend. This is where I step in to help provide that engagement and motivation in an authentic way.  The products I use, promote, and trust, are being subconsciously embedded in viewers brains as ones that are superior as a result of the consistency, honesty, and relatability of my posts and videos.  I make a point to respond to all inquiries about the companies and products I believe in which make people feel like they are being heard. They are getting real answers and content through a more personal view in a way that companies themselves can't always provide.  Those types of connections and interactions are what build trust to keep people coming back, attract new customers, and get them to spend their hard earned money in the industry.

My name is Greg Hitchko and I grew up riding since I was 11 years old.  I played hockey and lacrosse through high school and a year of D1 lacrosse, but stopped playing those sports to really pursue my passion, motocross racing.  I started racing in 2009 in the C then B class.  The choice to start a career ended my racing stint at the age of 23.  It was not until I was 28 when I moved to Salt Lake City, bought another dirt bike that I found that passion to ride again.

My fiance and I took a road trip to the Washougal Amateur national in 2019 where I entered my first race for the first time in 7 years.  In November of 2019, I was inspired to do a complete Kawasaki KX250 rebuild project, from the bottom up.  It is a replica of Carmichael's 2001 Chevy Trucks Kawasaki. I created a YouTube channel and filmed the entire process, tear down, motor tear down, bottom end rebuild, suspension rebuild, etc. I plan to continue to run with this two stroke build and promote it as best I can. I would like to do more builds down the road as well.  This bike is also my main bike. A lot of time you see people do bike builds but they don't ride them.  I am at the track every weekend with the build and it gets a ton of attention.

I wasn't able to race as much in 2020 due to my recent marriage on July 31, 2020!  We bought my wife a KX100 to ride at the track as well.  She also competed in her first race in September as well!

Riding Goals

I plan to race the RMX series in Utah for the 2020 race season.  Hitting big events like the Utah State Championship and Idaho State Championship.  I also plan to race the Two Stroke World Championship at Glen Helen for 2020 as well as the Washougal Amateur National.

Its awesome to race the old school two stroke against a class of new four strokes.  It gives me a sense of challenge and satisfaction to line up against the four strokes and beat them. Riding and racing the KX250 project bike definitely turns a bunch of heads at the track and a great conversation point in the pits and on the starting line.

Competitive Highlights

2020 Utah State Championship:

Moto Scores of 5-2-1 for 2nd overall in Vet 30+ C.  It was awesome to grab a win in that last moto.
