Experience:
June, 2008-present-2001 YZ250 250 beginner class
I am riding a new bike for me and am learning fast! I rode a lot this past summer on local tracks like Mountain View, Longview and FBZ Acres. Getting ready to race and feeling comfortable on my bike are my number one priorities right now. This bike is a big jump from my old one and it’s cool because it goes a lot faster and that makes it more fun.
January ’05-June ’08- 2004 Kawasaki KX85 85 beginner class
I got this bike used and my dad fixed it up with new parts and cool graphics. It was a fun bike and was my first one that I had to shift but once I got that down I really improved. I raced it a few times but mainly rode practice tracks.
August ’03-January ’05 2003 Husqvarna 50 50 6-8 class
I raced this bike a lot. My best finishes are 3rd at Woodland, 5th at P.I.R. and 6th at Woodland. I also participated in the kids field day at Diamond Mill and took first in the agility part of the course. I liked that bike because it had cool colors and lots of travel.
September ’99-August ’03 2000 Honda XR50 50 oil injected class
This was my first bike and I was afraid to race it at first but adjusted quickly and did well. My best performances were a 3rd overall at the Clark County Fairgrounds and 3rd and 4th at Woodland. I also rode this motorcycle a lot at the indoor tracks here in Oregon.
Activities:
Sports are a big part of my life. Besides racing motocross, I play center and defensive end for Southridge youth football. We practice a lot and play 8 games. Right now we are 2 wins and 2 losses. I have played football since 3rd grade and have a lot of friends on my team. I also was lucky enough this summer to get picked for the Rhino Lacrosse team which is made up of the best players in Oregon for my age group. The best part of lacrosse this year was representing Oregon at the Sonoma Adrenaline tournament in California. We stayed in the dorm rooms for 4 days and played 14 games. I also play basketball and am going to try out for the Metro team this year. BMX is fun and I ride at a local BMX track in Beaverton, Oregon. My favorite riders are Mike Larocco, Josh Hill, Grant Langston and John Grant.
Education:
I am an A/B student at Conestoga Middle School in Beaverton, Oregon. I like school and have lots of friends. Last year I never missed a day of school. My favorite subject is writing. I want to go to the University of California-Berkeley for college.
Riding Goals
One of my main goals this year is to get some help with some sponsorships. Parts cost so much money and they break a lot so you have to go buy more. I always outgrow my gear because I am growing so fast so that costs more money and even gas just to get to the races is super expensive. Another goal is to corner better and be a better jumper. When I ride a lot of practice I get better every time so when I practice I always make sure that I pick one part of my racing to work on and do that during that day. It works too because I used to not like whoops and now I love them because I practiced. I want to do good in school and get all my homework turned in on time. I also want to learn to drive a car when I am old enough. Playing lots of sports is fun too and I want to continue to play all my sports and race too!
Competitive Highlights
I got a lot of 3rd places at Woodland one year when I was racing my Honda XL50 against all the 2-strokes. Even though my bike wasn’t as fast I still did good so I was happy about that. At the practice tracks I can keep up with a lot of the riders that ride in classes that are faster than mine so I think that’s cool too. I’m really just learning how to be a good racer now and I think that with some time and some more practice I can really get a lot faster and place higher in my races.
