Rider Updates
Sep 30 2019
Happy and proud to say that we finished out the 2019 Thursday Night Motocross 2nd overall in the Open C class! There was a lot of competition in that class, a long season and lots of banging bars....but we came through, made it to almost every one of the races and finished out top 3! And now, on to Woodland winter series.....

CLEAR TO RIDE!
Went for a final checkup last Friday, and got the best possible outcome - the femur is FINALLY completely closed, and I am FINALLY fully released.
So Saturday......we were at the track :) Of course! I couldn't wait to get back at it. Went to Riverdale with some friends and really found a rhythm on the new YZ250F...this bike is PRIME.
Sunday, I rode at the local track near the house. And now, time to train, train, train and get back in shape. TNMX starts in three weeks, see you there!

Woot woot, great news! I've been cleared to swing a leg back over my bike! The leg is healing nicely, everything is straight, the nerves are waking up (it feels WEIRD) and there's lots of bone growth. No track or jumps for the next two months, but sand, woods, trails.....yep. And I'll be racing at PacWest and PIR TNMX!!!

Well, it's time to check in!
On August 26th, I was at the 125 Dream Race - I've been training for this race for a long time, it's a really great time put on by a great event company, and people are there all weekend long and there's only 2 strokes. So cool! Vintage bikes, holeshot races, everything about the Dream Race is amazing.
Practice went great - I felt good, and rode well. Hit the triple, was really into the flow of riding that morning, and the track was prime.
First lap of my race went awesome as well - came out of the first corner sitting solidly in the top ten up into horsepower hill, and in that class with almost 40 at the gate, that's just fine by me. I worked my way up to 8th or so, but then my luck ran out. I scrubbed the tunnel jump and just caught my back tire on the lip...which endoed me over the handlebars. The bik followed my flip and landed on me before we parted ways. My bike came out of it ok, my bars and forks are toast but my brand new pipe didn't even have a mark, but I had a bit bigger issues. I broke my right femur, and my left collarbone.
We stretched my leg at the track in a traction splint, and I got a quick ride to the hospital and pretty much went right into surgery. Three hours later, I came out with some new titanium hardware for forever, a sling and a chair to scoot around in for the next three months.
Though my crash sucks, and I'm bummed I'm out for the winter seasons at all the NW tracks, my long goal still hasn't changed. I'm still gunning for Loretta's by the time I'm 18, and I cannot wait to get back on my bike. My family is very supportive and I have an amazing support system between family, docs and physical therapists.
Can't keep this kid down! Wait and see, I'll be back before you know it!
