Personal History
My name is Gavin Winnestorfer, I live in St. Helens, Oregon. I'm lucky to be surrounded by some great tracks; motocross is a big deal to me. A few years ago, I decided to focus on moto, and quit playing regular sports and talked my mom into letting me race.
I started on a CRF250r and rode in the beginner 250 classes. It was a great experience for me, but I loved the snap of two stroke bikes, and when the motor on my 250 seized, I talked my parents into a YZ125 for racing. I love this bike and am excited to see how this upcoming race season turns out with it.
I love to race on the tracks, but I also love the sand. We take family vacations a couple times a year to Winchester Bay and Sandlake, and though I had a huge crash there last year, my mom keeps letting me on the sand :) I'm also lucky to have trails right outside our back door, so I'm able to train pretty easily on varied terrain.
This is an exciting year for me, as I'm going to try for the series points in the BTH amateur class at PIR for Thursday Night Motocross in Portland, OR. I'm young, but I think I have a shot!
