Rider Updates

2018 was great! Started out on my 2016 CRF250R Honda placing in the top 3 and decided to get a new bike so I could earn contingency money. I bought a 2018 CRF250R! Loved the power and the way it handled but I wasn’t quite as fast. I worked and pushed my way through the year and ended up 4th in the GNCC 4stroke B Lites. Thank you to all my sponsors who made it possible. Thank you for the last 7 years. It’s been an amazing ride. I have accepted a sponsorship with Machine Specialties Inc as an apprentice. I’m in college and working full time earning a machinist degree.

I had a great start today. Got off the line good and was 4th going itnto the trail. I was rolling on and hit a rock that sent me flying off the bike. I sat there awhile and gathered myself back together. I got on the bike and took off knowing I was last in the class and last overall. I pushed through the pain in my leg and gained positions and reduced lap times every lap. West Virginia was full of rocks and lots of hill climbs. My intake of pre race foods helped me have the energy I needed. Thank you to my Mom who makes sure I eat good, my Dad who has my bike race ready using my sponsors. Thank you to all who sponsor me! Most important I give thanks to God for keeping me safe.

Another great lesson from Emily Raines at Raines Riding University in Travelers Rest, SC. I worked on balance, tight woods, corners, and then applied it to the track. I am ready for GNCC FMF Steele Creek, Morganton, NC this weekend. Thank you for the support and helping me achieve my goals.

I finished the race today at the GNCC Maxxis Cannonball Run in Sparta, Ga. I got an ok start, back half of the pack but passed bikes going into the woods I was running about 6th or 7th and got stuck in a rut at the mud hole off the start. It took a couple of people to get me out. I fought back and could see my class and wrecked with class behind me rider that passed me while I was stuck. I lost my momentum and had to refocus. I am proud of myself for continuing and finishing 10th in my class. I am focusing on Steele Creek. I plan to continue working out and practicing my drills that Emily Raines taught me. First, I would like to thank God for keeping me safe. Prayers go out to the Ty Keston family. Second, I thank my parents for supporting my dream and third, I would like to thank all of my sponsors.i couldn't pursue this career without FTI, Dixie Fuels, O'Neal, Leatt, Pitposee, Protaper, Sir Pizza, Buttke Hay Service, Above and Beyond and Super Mechanical!

I raced my first GNCC 3 hour race in Palatka, Fl. The weather was perfect and I was ready, I thought! My sponsors had my bike in great condition. I got a great start and was off to the non forgiving sand and palmetto roots with a couple good mud holes. I was clipping off the miles, made one fuel stop ran my best lap time of 45 mins and then it hit me. I was exhausted I was running 10th the first 2 laps and came through scoring on the 3rd lap 11th but only 8 seconds behind 10th when I had to pull off. Thanks to FTI, ONeal, Protaper, DeCal Works, Amzoil, Dixie Fuel, Leatt, Honda Cycle Center, Sir Pizza, Above and Beyond, Buttke Hay Sercice, Sound Solutions, Superior Mechanical and Pit Posse for making today possible. I will be in the gym and on my bike this week. Looking forward to Ga. next weekend. My goal is to pace myself, look ahead and make more calculated attacks on my class. Going to train this week for a top 5 finish!

I went to a 2 day riding school with Emily Raines at the Am Pro Yamaha Training facility In Travelers Rest, SC. I learned body position, corners, ruts, tight woods, brake control and wheelies. I shaved off 27 secs a lap from the beginning of class til the end. This was a great opportunity my parents gave me to get ready for the GNCC 2016 series that begins in March.
