Personal History
My name is Garrett Maurer and I just started racing last year for my first season of supercross. I started the series when I was four, and I turned five in June. I started out on a Honda CRF50, and I upgraded to a 2022 Gas Gas MC50 midseason. I finished 9th out of 16 overall, and I can’t wait to place higher this season. I love racing every weekend, and my race family is such a great support. We camp out all weekend and really turn racing into a lifestyle. My seven year old sister just got her first dirt bike, and she wants to start racing this season as well. My dad has been racing since 2004, and we are having so much fun learning new skills together.
Riding Goals
I want to place top five this year. I really improved towards the end of my last season, and I’m ready to put a full season on my new Gas Gas. I can jump the table tops, and I would love to learn how to jump the regular jumps this year. I mainly raced supercross with a few harescrambles at Evansville Race track, but I would love to travel to some other races on the off weekends this year.
Competitive Highlights
Of course I want to win, but I pulled over several times to check on my friends that went down this year. We’re competitive at the gate and on the track, but I still want to look out for them if they need my help.
