Personal History
My name is Garrett Madden. I just started high school this year and over the summer i got heavy into racing. It became the thing i would alwasy talk about and dream about more and more, i mean i would back then but i never had a bike i could actually race with. My dad bought me an old 2 stroke 50 quad when i was six and about a year and a hlaf later i got my first dirt bike, an XR 50. i rode that off and on because my parents are divorced until he bought me a crf80f. i rode that as much as i could, bought some custom stuff like air filters. little things. Three years ago i got a CRF150F, and thing went on the downhill for me and he sold my bike. I was devastated and i realized that thats a big thing in my life ever since i was little and i worked and changed who i was and got my first actual race bike a 2003 YZF250. I dont think i was ever happier when i got this bike, its my baby! After riding with some old time professional riders i got into racing and have been real interested in it and i want to stick to it for as long as i can, i want to be with it for a future to do as a job. I know i cant do that on my own because it gets expensive so i looked into sponsers and was hoping i could get some that would help me out in search for my future of racing.
Riding Goals
Ive got a few goals, this is a new year now and i want to change some things. I know for a fact im staying with racing, its the biggest thing in my life and i love it! I am still in school so grades are a big thing with my mom and step dad and i want to still do good in school as best as i can. Im getting older now and need to learn to save money and balance it, i have a job and work on saturdays and do the best i can to pay for as much of the stuff i need to ride as i can, when my mom pitches in i pay her back (dort worry, lol). but i have a younger brother and im going to teach him to ride with me, i just helped get him a quad for christmas and im hopinh one day me and him can go ride the trails someday or go racing together.
Competitive Highlights
Well its been about a year now that ive been racing, i know im not the best or perfect and could always work on some things or get more practice in but im doing the best i can and i know im going to stick with it. I did my first race at mudslingers in grand mound and finished 10th out of 16. I was somewhat disappointed but it was my first race and i rode better then some of the guys who have done it a few more times then me. Im hoping to get into more races around the state and do more and hopefully get my name out in the public and get known.
