Personal History

My name is Garrett Berrington. I am 14 years old. I live in Smith Valley, Nevada. I have been riding for 8 years and racing for just over 6 years. My first dirt bike I got on Christmas. It was a Honda CRF 50. I like to ride my dirt bike at my house, and out in the BLM (Bureau of Land Management). I started racing with very little bike experience. I now have a 2022 Husqvarna TC 85 and a 2023 Husqvarna TC 85. I have a very late birthday and I am on the smaller side. My number is 24. I picked that number because it adds up to all the letters in my name, Garrett Michael Berrington, 24 letters.

Riding Goals

My goal for racing is to be a better, stronger and a faster rider. I would love to attend more National Races. Ultimately the opportunity to qualify and attend Lorretta Lynn’s AMA Race would be absolutely amazing. I know this will take a lot of dedication and I am ready to work.

Competitive Highlights

I have completed five full series here in Northern Nevada. I have had some ups and downs while riding. In the Northern Nevada series, I have taken three championships and two runner ups. In addition, at my First National Race, the 2018 Thanksgiving Winter Classic, I finished 2nd overall and the following year I qualified and attended the 2019 Mammoth Motocross Race. It was a great experience, and I learned a lot. 2020 and 2021 brought a lot of riding and practice. Unfortunately, 2022 brought injury for my first half of the year. I broke my wrist, came off injury, qualified for Mammoth 2022 and then broke my wrist further down and my collarbone. Unfortunately, I was not able to race Mammoth this year, I want to focus on getting healthy and building my strength. Since then, I have been putting on weight, working out and training. I have done a few races including the 2022 Thanksgiving Classic and I got 10th in my class, but my focus has been on training. I have a lot to work on, but I am dedicated to being my best and making my way to the podium every time the gate drops. I finished 5th overall in the REP Saturday Night Series in my age group this past summer. In addition, I have started working with a Trainer/Coach, Tyler Ectiknap to help me to become better.
