Personal History
I grew up in a motorcycle family. Dad Rode, mother rode, and then after my two other brother came along; we all rode together. After High School, I joined the military and spent 8 years serving my country. I still spent time riding off-road but didn’t get to ride as much as I wanted to. After the service I found a full time job and started working on my degree.
It wasn't until this year; my brother suggested we race in the PA state Hare Scramble Series with him. We were running out of land to ride on and my competitive edge was thirsting for something other than just exercising at the gym.
At the time I had a 1998 RM 250 that I have had since new. Running the races with this machine proved difficult as most of my competition had newer technology wit the use of electric start. I finally got some funds together and bought a new 2009 KTM 450XC-W. I just finished the National Hare Scramble at Rausch Creek and the unofficial results look like I came in first in my class. Big difference from the days of placing in the lower half of the class on the RM 250.
I can't wait to see what the future holds being able to ride smoother and obviously faster. But I feel that a great attitude in life and confidence in what you know will overcome the fear of faliure.
Riding Goals
My goals for myself in the sport are: place in the top five or better for the 2010 GNCC series; hone my woods racing skills to become a smoother and faster rider by choosing great lines; work on my physical conditioning to out last the rest of the competition in the most grueling of terrain; and lastly, to help teach, train, and mentor kids to become interested in the sport of off road motorcycle racing.
