Personal History
I am a Junior in high school in the New York Capital District, I am constantly on the honor roll. I am an Explorer with the Albany County Sheriffs. I also am a Volunteer Firefighter. I was never very interested in dirt bikes or riding them at all. I always heard stories from both my uncles and my dad from when the raced in the 1990's. In 2011 I got my sister a Chinese made 50cc dirt bike. That dirt bike became the bridge for us to get us into racing. Once my sister started racing it immediately got me interested in it. I live at home with both of my parents and my little sister who is 2 years younger than me. For Christmas in 2013 my parents got both my sister and I new dirt bikes. As for me this was my first ever dirt bike. I got my 2009 YX250F, that day my bike became my best friend so to speak. As soon as the snow melted off of the ground my sister and I were out in the yard riding. I even made a small jump in the yard so that we could get used to jumping. I spent the whole spring practicing and getting more comfortable on my dirt bike. in July 2014 I finally started racing.
Riding Goals
When I started racing I will admit it, I had a lot of flaws, I would go into corners way too slow and then also come out of the corners way too slow, I would try to sit straight up when going through the corners, I would hesitate a lot when the gate would drop during the hole shot and also I would roll most of the jumps. By the end of the racing season I completely reversed myself. I still wasn't getting top 10 positions but I was extremely happy with the progress that I made throughout the season. The one flaw that was really getting to me was the fact that every race I did I would wind up getting lapped and lose the final lap. By the end of the season I changed that too. I made quite a few improvements to my racing style and racing overall and this year my focus is to move up in the pack.
Competitive Highlights
I am certified in Boaters Safety, both Gun and Bow Hunters Safety, and CPR. I have gotten multiple Character Awards in school. I am part of the Sheriff Explorers and a Volunteer Firefighter. This year I also got my learners permit for driving.
