Personal History
I began racing motocross in 1975 on a YZ80B and continued on through 1980, riding 125 Expert (not Pro) at the local level. I migrated to jet skis in 1980 and skied until 1989, when my first child was born. My sons raced mx during their youth and we traveled the country as a family racing amateur events. I began riding street bikes again in 2009 and migrated exclusively into collecting vintage bikes in 2015. I began racing vintage bikes last year (2018) and only did one AHRMA National placing 2nd in the Pre-Modern (disc brake) class on a heavily modified XR200R.
For 2019, I have ditched the front disc brake and will race in the Ultima 250 4-stroke class and the 50+ Novice class (with a DLS drum brake). I have spent thousands of dollars to ensure that my race bike is both competitive and show-worthy. I believe in supporting those that support my racing efforts and I try my best to have a pit-presence that is both "vintage" and "professional."
Riding Goals
Meet cool folks, have fun, look good, and do my best to end in the day in one piece.
Competitive Highlights
Every gate drop at 50+ years of age is a competitive highlight-----but my goal is always to ride as hard as I can with a goal of winning.
I am certainly not traveling an estimated 8k miles this year to finish last....
