Personal History
I’m 51 years old and live in Kingsport, TN with my wife Amber. We have 2 rescue pitbulls and no kids. I also work as a Product Manager for Race and Performance Private Brands at Specialty Tires of America, which is a diverse U.S manufacturer of racing tires. I grew up riding my dirt bike on trails in southern Indiana before going away to college at Indiana University where I raced bicycles at a very high level in collegiate road and track cycling. Upon graduation I moved to Southern California where I took up the sport of motocross and instantly fell in love with the competition until a life threatening injury in 2005. The injuries led me down a long path of rehabilitation, addiction and eventually redemption as I recovered from my injuries and prescription pain medication addiction. Needing a change, I eventually moved to Tennessee where I got my life back on track, literally by starting a successful career in Outlaw Drag Racing. Fast forward to 2020, I sold my drag racing operation, and in 2021 I bought my first dirt bike in 17 years and started trail riding again! By God's grace, I've been sober for 15 years this past Thanksgiving!!!
This past Summer I decided to try my first hare scramble and was blow away by the organization, competition and kindness of the Off-road racing community. Therefore, I decided to up my game; bought a new bike, got a coach, and committed to pushing myself mentally and physically. Along the way, I have truly enjoyed every minute no matter where I finish at each race.
I firmly believe that a racer is a racer, regardless of the platform or age at which they compete. Therefore, for me personally, racing Off-road is a God-given second chance at my first love and I will always be grateful to Him for it.
Thank you for your companies’ support of motorcycle racing and for providing guys like me with an opportunity to represent you.
Kind regards,
Eric
Riding Goals
Objective
2022 was my first season racing Off-road motorcycles. My goal for 2022 was to finish inside the top 10 for the VCHHS series. Despite only racing 6 events, I was able to accomplish this through consistent finishes, scoring a 9th overall. For 2023 my goals are; compete in the entire 13 race series, win a race, and finish inside the top 3 overall. My expectation is to do this through a combination of hard work and growth that will only be made possible through my faith in God and help from family, and sponsors.
