Personal History
My name is Eric and I'm 26.
I started riding mini-bikes when I was 4 Years. Though I've been riding most of my life I just started racing motocross in 2005. My racing started out slow at first but after my first races I caught on and started wining on my 1999 KX 250. I ended up winning the 4 States MX Summer Night Series. Following the Night series I raced and won the G&C Triple Cup series!
I am a member of the AMA as well as the NMA. Being a part of these assoiations is another way to alow me to take an active role in the sport.
I'm currently a Mechanical Engineering student seeking a Masters in Welding Engineering. I've always loved riding motorcycles as well as working on them. Being that I'm a CNC machinist I have the opportunity to customize my bikes and modify my engines and suspension myself.
I plan on doing a career in racing while using the skills that I have learned both on and of the track. I'm a strong believer in pursuing a career with something you love. I don't want a job that I hate going to which is why I found a love for riding and turning wrenches. Life is a journey thats needs to be pursued with happiness.
I will promote my sponsors to the best of my ability through out the season!
Riding Goals
This year I'm working hard to be on the podium both locally and at Ponca City GN. My goals are to focus be successful and be a smarter racer overall. Not only that but attend all the races that I can. I'm more focused than ever at winning. Now that I have my 450 and I'm comfortable with the bike I see a great season ahead of me! I'll be training with a local Pro through out the season to gain more speed. After I started training with him I feel faster already.
Competitive Highlights
When I first started racing I fell alot and didn't jump anything. The first series I ever raced started out with 5th and 7th places. After those two races I dedicated myself to riding as much as I could cause I wanted to win. The results were obvious with a 3rd place finish followed by six 1st place finishes.
I raced a 3 round series which was some of the best racing that I will probably ever do. The three races was a battle between myself and another local rider that eventually came down to the last lap of the last moto during the last race. During the last race we were going back and fourth both motos. I got passed two turns from the finish but I kept my line and kept charging. Coming into the last turn I took him on the inside. I won that series by 3 points! He told me later on that he knew I liked the outside line therefore he was protecting it. That race I learned that changing lines can be a great decision!
