Rider Updates

Aug 6 2008

spent the week getting my YZ 250 preped with a NiteRider mounted on the fork leg. Its a heck of a lot brighter then the stock light on the CRF 250x we rode at Prairie Dogs. Painted the inside of my hand guards and number plate black and called it a night.

got out to Charlie's place at 3:15 or so and got signed up. went and checked out the endurocross section. cool. then went and checkd out the start. what? it was facing right and the trail went left. And when I say "TRAIL" I mean TRAIL!! there was a single trail heading out so I got my bike ready and set it out on the line at 5:30. ofcourse by 7 it was Max Eddy, Bob Roberts, Mike Childress, myself, Nick Blais, and Trevor Watson all pointing at the same line!!!

We all lined up and spent about 15 minutes trying to get us all straight, staggerd or whatever. shades of the 4 ACES start line snafu. all the lines pointing left and the start poining right. Once we were lined up the flagger just kind of raised the flag really slow and Blais was off so we were all off!!! Cherged through the dust, passed Andy Vandenberg on the road and headed for Eddy and Watson.

Zig Zagging through the rocks in the dust at twilight was pretty intense! Eddy got Watson and was gone. The Andy and I got around Watson and I just tried to put some distance while it was still light because I knew I'd be at a disavantage once the sun was all the way down.

A bike started getting really close after Jake's Canyon and I heard it was a 4 stroke so let him by, it was Modica. GO GO GO!!! Came up ad over the tires getting High centered but still making it and coming into the pits first 250. Went back out with my light pointing "I-Dont-Know-Where" and tried to keep my distance.

Andy caught up and I could tell I was holding him up but riding is his light was great. Oh man, now I can see. We were side by side into the check before the rode crossing and were side by side for the next 1/4 mile or so and
