Personal History
To start, I am a junior at Scituate High School and I'm 16 years old. I have a younger brother, an older brother and an older sister. My dad has been teaching us how to ride since I was about 8 years old, but I was the only one who stuck with it. Since I was young, I've always had a "need for speed" and nothing can keep me occupied like a throttle can. Motocross has been the only thing I've ever wanted to do since I started. I have always been competitive ever since I was young, and that is strongly recognized in my riding.
Riding Goals
When I started riding, I started out on a little Honda 90cc quad. Harmless right? Nope. I convinced my dad to put a jump at the bottom of the hill in our back yard, that I made bigger and bigger every week...Within about 6 months the battery was dragging behind the quad by a single wire and it couldn't be started without getting jumpstarted by a car. I was 12 years old and I had officially destroyed my first quad. Then, under the Christmas tree appeared a Honda crf80 that proved to be too slow within about a year and a half when I was hitting the 30 foot tabletop in my back yard in fourth gear punched and I complained that I wasn't going fast enough. I was 15 when I finally got the bike I really wanted. I got a Honda crf150r that I am now racing at Capeway Rovers in Middleborough, MA. I plan on training and running all winter to stay in shape for the spring when it's time to pull the bike out and hit the throttle like never before. "Good" has never been good enough for me. I want to go faster, higher and land further. In the spring, I plan on racing every week and learning from my mistakes to make me a stronger rider.
Competitive Highlights
As said before, I have always been a competitive person. My perseverance seperates me from the rest. For example, when I was 14, on my crf80, I flipped the bike on that 30 foot tabletop and it landed on me leaving scars in the shape of a tread mark on my back that are still there today. When I opened my eyes, the first thing I said was "Dad, is my bike okay?!" Also, in my first ever race I was put in the 250 class on my Honda crf150r and I was up against ranked riders. From the beginning I was in the top three places, and by lap two I was in second place up against a ranked rider on a 250. I was flying over the jumps and punching it on the straight aways to the point of almost no control. But that is how I like it, fast, very fast. With ranked riders all around me, I held my ground. But, it was raining and then the worst happened...I got sprayed with dirt and wiped out due to the lack of vision on my muddy goggles. Even though I didn't win, I came off the track and everyone was talking about how astonished they were at how well I rode in my first race, and they couldn't wait to see me next season killing it even more so than I did that day.
