Personal History

Ellie Mae Hames

I started riding at age 4 on a Honda 50cc.  I raced this bike for 3 races in the fall of 2018 shortly after getting off training wheels that year.

I currently race my KTM 50cc sr and I'm competing with the boys at every race.  I'm in fourth grade and like to ride twice a week.  I race almost every weekend at Joliet Motorsports or at Mendota Megacross.

I don't have any siblings and I live with my mom and dad.  My dad use to race dirt bikes and he has taught me many things about my riding style and riding techniques.

Riding Goals

I need to work on getting better in the corners and finding a rut and pinning it around a turn. Also, I need to work on jumping and passing right away. Next, I need to go faster in the turns, and always need to shift on the track.

Competitive Highlights

I have gotten second out of the starting gate in Joliet, but I need to find a way to keeping my speed up throughout the race.

I've just started riding my YZ65cc and raced in a girls class for the first time on Saturday, September 14, 2019.  I placed 4th out of 5 riders with 65cc and 85cc bikes in the race.  I passed a couple of riders that were in the 65 beginner class with the boys, since the girls class was the second gate drop in this race.

Whenever someone sees me ride, they always say my technique is awesome. Once I get my speed up, then it will all come together.
