Personal History

My name is Eddie Boyles. I have always been interested in motocross and a 16 bought a 2002 CR125 and began racing. This did not last long as i joined the United States army a year later. Every time I was able to take leave I made sure to come home and race in the local circuit (Metropolitan Sports Committee MX) generally with poor results. I was finally able to get into racing full time upon being station back in the US after 3 years in Germany. I raced the Tennessee MX Association for a full season and moved from the Novice ranks to the Amateur. After 6 years, a combat deployment to Afghanistan and two support deployments I bought my first brand new bike. This was also the time I got hurt and had to have my left shoulder rebuilt. This year was my first full year back on a bike and in the amateur ranks. Do to work conflicts I was not able to race every weekend and was not as confident as I should have been at first but I still came in 12th overall for the year in the Open Amateur. I currently own my own lawn and tree care business and am a supervisor at ITW Deltar making injection molded car parts.

Riding Goals

My goals for the 2016 season are simple. I would like to finish the year in at least the top 10 in both the Open Amateur and the Plus 25 Amateur. I would also like to be on the podium for an overall and not just for a moto. After that I would like to try and qualify for Lorretta Lynns in the Plus 25 class for 2017. I intend on going to every race that the Metropolitan Sports Committee host for 2016.

Competitive Highlights

My competitive highlights for 2015 are few but notable.

1. The last MSC race of the year I took 8th of 17 in my first college boy moto. The second moto i went down in the first turn and was dead last by the time I got up and got the bike running. Do to the sun going down and it being the last moto of the day they cut the laps down from 6 to 4. In 4 laps I passed up to 3rd for 5th overall on the day. My best overall finish of the year.

2. Every year Diamondback MX of East Durham, NY holds a race they call the Catskill Mountain Amateur National. Its a big event where they have a few races for charities and do a race for dealer team of the year. I was having bike issues and missed the gate drop in my first college boy moto and the entire pack had a good 20 second lead on me. out of 13 riders I was able to pass up to 10th in the first moto and took 5th in the second for 7th overall.

3. I was hurt for the better portion of this year. (Recovering from a Left Shoulder and Right Knee surgery) This kept me out of the gym and off the bike a lot longer than I expected. Unfortunately I was only able to attend 13 of 27 round that MSC put on. Even with this I still finished the year in 12th overall in the Open Amateur just 4 points out of 11th.
